Maroun Abou Harb

Maroun is an associate in the corporate department, based in our DIFC office.

He has a proven track record of success in providing comprehensive legal counsel to clients across a diverse range of corporate and tax matters. Maroun’s latest accomplishments include; the successful facilitation of a $1 million cross-border transaction, whereby he ensured a seamless and successful outcome for his client, Maroun showcased sharp legal acumen and strategic litigation skills, in a recent matter whereby he successfully secured an award of $1 million in damages.

In another recent matter, Maroun played a pivotal role in a transaction involving a $100 million transaction, collaborating with internal counsel to ensure the transaction’s legal compliance and adherence to the regulatory authority.

Beyond his transactional expertise, Maroun possesses a deep understanding of compliance management, having developed a comprehensive compliance strategy and legal framework for individuals from high-risk countries operating companies in the UAE. He has also implemented robust regulatory compliance programs for international businesses, ensuring adherence to UAE laws and regulations, mitigating potential risks, and protecting the company’s interests.

Maroun’s tax expertise revolve around strategic counsel on corporate tax and VAT matters, providing multiple structuring options for tax optimization purposes. Specifically, Maroun’s expertise is to advice clients for tax efficiencies purposes and to maximize their financial well-being.

Throughout his career, Maroun has consistently demonstrated his expertise in litigation, corporate transactions, and diversified tax issues.

Prior to BSA Maroun gained law firm experience in both the corporate M&A practice, including drafting contracts, memos and corporate guarantees, and in the litigation practice where he drafted motions in civil, criminal, and commercial matters.

Maroun was admitted to the Beirut Bar Association in 2023.

He fluently speaking English, French and Arabic, as well as German at a B1 level.
