Jean Abboud

Jean is the partner heading the KSA Office of BSA Law in Riyadh. With over fifteen years of experience in the Middle East, including thirteen years focused on Saudi Arabia, Jean specializes in corporate and commercial law, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) corporate restructurings, securities, insurance and dispute resolutions. He has significant expertise in the petrochemical, energy, telecommunications, and industrial sectors.
Jean has successfully led numerous M&A transactions, including the acquisition of a Saudi-based grocery and food delivery company, as well as the acquisition and restructuring of several healthcare institutions. His broad knowledge extends to managing joint ventures, foreign investments, securities and capital markets, public and private offerings and high-profile litigation. Jean has also worked extensively with private equity and venture capital firms, guiding them through complex transactions, including financing and strategic investments.
In addition to his corporate work, Jean is a trusted advisor to multinational clients in sectors such as telecommunications, technology, energy and insurance. His regulatory expertise includes actively leading and advising Saudi ministries and local authorities on various government-related projects, including public-private partnerships (PPPs), and regulatory reform initiatives. He currently represents a global leader in OCTG solutions in a USD 96 million dispute and advises two of the world’s largest energy companies on establishing the largest wind and solar farms in Saudi Arabia.
Jean holds an LL.B. from La Sagesse University (Beirut, Lebanon) and a BA in Computer Science from the Lebanese American University (Beirut, Lebanon). He is a member of the Beirut Bar Association and is fluent in Arabic, English, and French.
